What Do Artists Do All Day? - Anthony Gormley

I think the primary drive in making a sculpture on different universe is to give some indication that we were here. It’s a futile attempt, but it’s what led to the making of Pyramid, the making of Moai in Rapa Nui, the making of Stonehenge...

we know in the truth of the geological time, that our life is as dust, we have consciousness, and they have eternity, or something close to what a rock has, the capability of enduring time longer than we do, and they wait for us, they wait for our feelings, thoughts, our freedom of movements, and our projections.

That’s what all great sculpture, I think, that calls to us,that appears to us. The works in many ways, are like nets, or traps that are waiting for us to be caught in them, with them....’
